Boliq for Google Home
See your Boliq bollards in the Google Home app and lower them by voice, or raise them if you allow it, from a Google speaker or display.
In Google Home each bollard shows as a garage door: open means lowered and close means raised. Google asks for your voice PIN every time it moves a bollard, so nobody can lower your bollards just by calling out to a speaker.
Connect your bollards
- On your phone, open the Google Home app.
- Tap Devices, then Add, then Works with Google Home.
- Search for Boliq and tap it.
- The Connect to Boliq page opens. Sign in with your Boliq login, tick the bollards Google can use, and tick Allow raising only if you want Google to raise them.
- Choose a voice PIN of 4 to 8 digits that you do not use for anything else, then press Connect.
Your bollards appear in Google Home with the names they have in the Boliq app.
Using it
- Say "Hey Google, open the driveway" (with your bollard's name). Google asks for your PIN, then the bollard lowers.
- Say "Hey Google, is the driveway open?" to check where it is.
- In the Google Home app, tap the bollard and use Open or Close. The app asks for the PIN on screen.
On an iPhone, voice works through a Google speaker or display, or the Gemini app. The Google Home app itself works by tapping.
Five wrong PINs in a row stop Google moving your bollards for 30 minutes, and you get a notification. Setting a new PIN in Connected apps lifts it straight away. Boliq bollards are access control, not crash rated barriers. A move is confirmed when the bollard next checks in with Boliq.
Changing or removing it
Change your voice PIN, choose which bollards Google can use, or disconnect it in Connected apps in your Boliq account. Removing Boliq in the Google Home app disconnects it too.
