How we handle your data

1. Who we are

Boliq designs and installs automatic rising bollards for homes, businesses, and highways. This policy covers data collected through boliq.co.uk, the customer and installer portals, the Boliq app, and any enquiry, quote, or order you make with us. 2. What we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, this can include:

• Contact details: name, email, phone number, company name, and site address, given when you enquire, get a quote, order, or create an account.
• Account details: your login email and an encrypted password, handled by our authentication provider, Supabase, we never see or store your password in readable form.
• Order and installation details: the products you've ordered, site survey answers, photos you provide, scheduling, and installation records.
• Bollard status data: once a bollard is linked to your account, its status, battery level, and position, so it can be shown to you in the portal and app.
• Push notification tokens: if you use the Boliq app and allow notifications, we store a token identifying your device so we can alert you about your own bollard, this is not linked to your precise location.
• Payment information: handled entirely by Stripe, our payment processor. We never see or store your card details.
• Communications: messages you send us via the contact form, email, or phone.

3. How we use it

We use your data to: respond to enquiries and provide quotes; process and fulfil orders, including scheduling installation; operate your account and the customer, commercial, or installer portal and app; send service-related communications, including quotes, order updates, and alerts about your own bollard, such as a low battery or a fault; and meet our legal and accounting obligations.

We don't use your data for third-party advertising, and we don't sell it.

4. Who we share it with

We use a small number of third-party services to run Boliq, each only receives what it needs to do its job:

• Stripe, to process payments.
• Supabase, to host our database and handle account login.
• Resend, to send quote, order, and account emails.
• Vercel, to host the website and app backend.
• Expo, to deliver push notifications to the app, if you've enabled them.

We don't share your data with anyone else unless required by law.

5. How long we keep it

We keep account and order data for as long as you hold an account with us, and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet accounting, warranty, and legal record-keeping requirements. Enquiries that don't turn into an order are kept for a limited period and then removed. You can ask us to delete your data sooner, see section 6.

6. Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you can ask us to: give you a copy of the data we hold about you; correct anything inaccurate; delete your data, where we're not required to keep it for legal reasons; or stop using it for a particular purpose. To do any of this, email hello@boliq.co.uk. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

7. Cookies

The website uses only the essential cookies needed to keep you signed in to the customer, commercial, installer, or admin portal. We don't currently use analytics or advertising cookies.

8. Children, and changes to this policy

Boliq's services are intended for adults placing or managing an order, not children. We may update this policy as the business and app develop, the version on this page is always the current one.
