A 600 mm stainless steel rising bollard, installed for £3,495
Boliq Sentry Max is an automatic rising bollard with a 219 mm, 6 mm wall 316 stainless steel body that rises to 600 mm in up to 15 seconds. It runs on a built-in 24 V lithium battery, so it needs no drainage connection and no electrician on battery power, and comes fully installed for £3,495 with two key fobs. App and SIM control is optional from £9.95 a month.
The heavier-duty bollard, for a more robust barrier
Sentry Max is the heavier-duty of Boliq's two bollards. Its 219 mm, 316 stainless steel body has a thick 6 mm wall and rises to 600 mm, making it a more robust barrier and a stronger visual deterrent at a driveway, a private road, a car park entrance or a reserved bay.
When it is lowered it sits flush with the ground, so cars drive straight over it. When it is raised it stops vehicles getting in or out. It is an access control bollard: it keeps unwanted vehicles off your property, but it is not crash tested and is not designed to stop a vehicle being driven into it deliberately.
- Driveways, gated homes and private roads
- Office car parks, reserved bays and depots
- Timed access to squares, service roads and private estates

Up in seconds, down when you need it
Key fobs as standard
Two key fobs are included. Press to raise, press to lower. Add the Boliq app when you want control from anywhere, and more fobs can be paired.
Battery, not cabling
The 24 V lithium battery means no trench across your drive, no electrician and no drain connection. The light ring flashes when it needs charging.
Safe by design
A sensor in the top cap stops it rising if anything is on it, it stops if it meets resistance, and it can be pushed down by hand in a power cut, so nobody is ever trapped in or out.
Control it from anywhere for £9.95 a month
Add the Boliq app and your bollard gets its own built-in mobile connection, so it works without WiFi, even at the end of a long drive or in a car park.
- Raise and lower from your phone, wherever you are
- Schedules that open and close at set times each day
- Alerts if the bollard reports a fault or loses power
- Every bollard on your account in one place
£9.95 a month covers the app and SIM for your first bollard, then £4.95 a month for each additional bollard. Linking to intercoms, access control or monitoring stations is available as a bespoke package.
£3,495, fully installed
That covers the bollard, groundworks, drainage bed, fitting, testing and two key fobs on a standard surface: tarmac, block paving, poured concrete, gravel or paving slabs. Boliq is not currently VAT registered, so there is no VAT to add.
Optional extras: app and SIM from £9.95 a month; a service plan at £395 a year per bollard, billed monthly; mains power at £35 per metre of 24 V DC cable (optional converter, supplied and fitted for £195).
Sentry Max questions
How tall is the Boliq Sentry Max?
It rises to 600 mm above the ground and is 219 mm in diameter. Lowered, it sits flush with the surface so vehicles can drive over it.
Sentry or Sentry Max, which should I choose?
Both work the same way. Choose Sentry Max when you want a heavier-duty, more robust bollard, at home or on a business site. For a typical single driveway, the compact Boliq Sentry at £2,495 is usually enough.
How often does the battery need charging?
A full charge gives up to about 1,000 raise and lower movements. A household using it six times a day would charge it roughly every five months. Two batteries come with it, so one can charge while the other is in use. For heavy daily use, choose mains power.
Can Sentry Max stop a car being driven into it?
It is not crash tested and is not a hostile vehicle mitigation product. It is built to control access, keeping unwanted vehicles out of driveways, bays and private roads.
Does it work in winter?
Yes. It is rated to operate down to minus 40 °C, and the motor is sealed to IP67. It sits on a free-draining gravel bed, so water drains away without a drain connection.
Can it connect to my gate, intercom or alarm?
Yes, as a bespoke package. We can link Boliq bollards to intercoms, access control systems and monitoring stations. Tell us about your site.
