The automatic driveway bollard, installed for £2,495
Boliq Sentry is a compact automatic rising bollard for a single driveway or private entrance: a 133 mm, 3 mm wall 316 stainless steel body that rises to 600 mm. It runs on a built-in battery, with mains power available if you prefer, and rises or lowers in up to 15 seconds at the press of a key fob. It is fully installed for £2,495 with two key fobs, and app control is optional from £9.95 a month.
Your drive, kept for your car
Sentry is made for homes. Raised, it stops anyone parking on your drive, turning in, or driving a car away. Lowered, it sits flush with the ground and you drive straight over it.
Because it runs on a battery, there is no trench across your drive for cables and no electrician to book. We fit it on tarmac, block paving, poured concrete, gravel and paving slabs at the fixed price, from a few photos of your driveway and no site visit.
- Stops people parking on or blocking your drive
- A visible barrier to keep cars on your drive
- Neater and quicker to fit than a gate
Want a heavier-duty, more robust bollard? See Boliq Sentry Max.

Let people in when you're not home
Your two key fobs operate the bollard. Add the Boliq app for £9.95 a month and your bollard gets its own mobile connection, so you can control it from anywhere without relying on your home WiFi.
- Lower it for a delivery or a visitor from your phone
- Schedules that raise it every night automatically
- Alerts if it reports a fault or loses power
Each additional bollard on the same account is £4.95 a month.
£2,495, fully installed
That covers the bollard, groundworks, drainage bed, fitting, testing and two key fobs, on a standard driveway surface, with a one year warranty. Boliq is not currently VAT registered, so there is no VAT to add.
Optional extras: app and SIM from £9.95 a month; a service plan at £395 a year per bollard, billed monthly; mains power at £35 per metre of 24 V DC cable (optional converter, supplied and fitted for £195).
Sentry questions
How much is the Boliq Sentry?
£2,495, fully installed with two key fobs on a standard driveway surface. There is no VAT to add. App and SIM control is an optional £9.95 a month.
Do I need a site visit?
Not for a standard driveway. Order online, send a few photos of your drive, and we confirm everything before we book your installation.
What happens if the battery goes flat?
The light ring flashes when the battery needs charging. If it does run flat, the bollard can be pushed down by hand so your car is never trapped, and you can swap in the second battery supplied, which you keep charged.
Is it safe with children and pets around?
A sensor in the top cap stops it rising if anything is on it, it stops if it meets resistance, and it can always be pushed down by hand in a power cut. As with any moving bollard, keep people and pets clear while it moves.
Do I need planning permission?
Possibly. Bollards are not named in the permitted development rules, one planning appeal has decided a row of rising bollards was not covered, and battery or mains power makes no difference. We can apply for a lawful development certificate (£395) or planning permission (£595) for you. Listed buildings and some conservation areas need permission. Our driveway bollard guide explains the rules.
Sentry or Sentry Max?
Sentry suits most single driveways. Choose Sentry Max (£3,495, 600 mm, 219 mm stainless steel with a 6 mm wall) for a heavier-duty, more robust barrier.
